Something as simple as walking, or running can help to support the homeless and hurting.
Another Spring 2 Action walk for Harvest House is planned for March 19th.
Executive Director and Founder Cal Maskery says their goal this year is to raise $25, 000 and have 500 walkers take part, “On the route, we have about 15 other charities that we point out and tell them what they are doing, so it is a bit of an educational walk. You see the different shelters, soup kitchen, YouthQuest, and John Howard Society, amongst others. We just let them see how many agencies are helping and what they’re doing to make a difference.”
Maskery says the five kilometre walk includes a tour of Harvest House. When the hundreds of walkers stroll through, they’ll get the chance to see who they are helping, and it’s also encouraging to those who are homeless to see home many people want to help.
