A Royal Canadian Navy training vessel arrives in Saint John on Monday.
The HMCS Oriole will be docked at Pugsley’s Wharf for two days leaving port on Wednesday morning.
The sailing vessel is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with a tour in several Maritime locations.
The Oriole was built for the Gooderham family in 1921 launching on June 4th in Ontario.
The ship was chartered by the Navy during the Second World War and it eventually moved to Halifax as a training vessel.
HMCS Oriole was officially commissioned in 1952 moving two years later the Esquimalt for use as a training ship for junior officers.
It is now based in Halifax.
People are encouraged to come and visit the ship, meet the crew and share stories they may have about sailing with Oriole.
Public visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
