Green Party Unveils What It Wants To Do

A new way forward is what the Green Party is calling its election platform with commercialising green technologies and lessening our dependence on fossil fuels.

In tangible terms, Green Party leader David Coon is talking about cancelling the contracts in the Premier’s forestry plan and banning shale gas development. Coon also wants to make the province more democratic.

Coon says the Legislature is dysfunctional with M-L-A’s not even reading the bills they vote on and if they don’t think their constituents will like proposed legislation, will just stay at home and not vote at all.

Coon accuses Premier David Alward of tying the province to sunset industries with fossil fuels and Provincial Liberal leader Brian Gallant of spending buckets of money to build more roads.

The Green Party’s strategy to reduce poverty will be rolled out tomorrow morning at the Carleton Community Centre in Saint John.
