What a way to end a school year. A group of students from Evergreen Park School made a cheque presentation this morning to the Greater Moncton SPCA.

He created the Evergreen Park Kids Who Care program in May. He says he came up with the idea from the 100 Kids Who Care program in Riverview.
He asked the over 800 students who attend Evergreen Park School to donate what they could.
They then chose three organizations, and held a vote to determine which group would receive their donation. The lucky recipient was the Greater Moncton SPCA….
Landry-Robichaud says in just two weeks, they raised $1266.98.
A cheque was presented this morning to Dave Rogers, the Executive Director for the Greater Moncton SPCA.

Landry-Robichaud is moving onto high school now, but he says he plans to start a group at Bernice MacNaughton High School as well. He also hopes that another student will carry on and do the same thing at Evergreen Park School next year.
Meantime, Dave Rogers was completely overwhelmed, admitting he didn’t expect a donation form over $1200 dollars.
Knowing the students fundraised for only two weeks, and were able to come up with this amount of money, Rogers got a little choked up.
He says this amount of money will be used for spaying and neutering, and with feeding, and they’ve also been faced with a few animals needing to have limbs amputated, and that can be very costly.
Rogers says overall this is just an awesome feeling, knowing that the youth care about the animals so much. He says, “For the young people of Evergreen to know how hard it is for the SPCA to operate year to year, because we don’t get government funding. it is all done by donations, it is just amazing.”
