Rabies shots are now included in the cost of adopting a dog or puppy from the Greater Moncton SPCA.
Executive Director Karen Nelson says this fall. They started giving shots because of the rise in rabies cases across the province.
Cats and kittens will also receive the shots starting in January.
Previously, the cost of adoption included spaying or neutering, microchipping and vaccines.
