Eight Anglophone East high schools raised $55,870 this year at the Dragonboat Festival.
With 21 boats and 450 participants, all eight high schools were represented.
60% of the funds go to the Lions Sick Children’s Fund and the remainder went to a charity of the schools’ choice.
Charities chosen ranged from the IWK to Safe Grad, and the Helping Hands Food Bank in Salisbury.
More than $370,000 has been raised by local high schools over the last 12 years.
