A Grand Falls man has been arrested after human remains were found on Tuesday along a section of the Renous Highway.
Miramichi Police say the remains have been identified as 21-year-old Brandon Martin of Miramichi who was reported missing on May 22, 2019.
An autopsy is underway to determine the cause of death.
In Miramichi court Thursday, 21-year-old Ethen James Harnish was charged with offering an indignity to human remains.
He is being held in custody until another court appearance at a later date.
Police expect more charges will be laid in this case as the investigation continues.
