A review is underway of the current water quality rating in the province, this comes after concerns were raised with the water quality at Parlee Beach and the Shediac Bay watershed this past summer.
The current water quality testing and rating system is outdated and the evaluation will determine how to improve it in time for the 2017 beach season.

The provincial government is also working with academic and private sector experts to identify sources of contamination throughout the watershed.
A project manager has been hired by the government to oversee these initiatives.
A website has also been developed to provide information with regards to the work and research research that is already underway.
