“When it comes to trade, the U.S. needs Canada and Canada needs the U.S.”
That from Premier Brian Gallant who was recently asked about the trade spat involving tariffs on aluminum, steel and other products heading across the border to the United States.
Gallant says our economies are integrated adding 30 states depend on Canada as their largest export market and the same is true for some provinces.
“Nine million American jobs are at stake if we start to close up the border between Canada and the U.S. so that’s why I remain relatively optimistic because the facts are on our side,” Gallant said.
Gallant says the provincial government absolutely supports the actions of the Federal government in this matter.
