Former Common Councillor Loses Appeal

Disgraced former Saint John Common Councillor Donnie Snook is right back where he was in the day of his sentencing despite his attempt to get his sentence reduced from 18 years to 15 behind bars.

The New Brunswick Court of Appeal dismissed that appeal- as well as cross appeal by the prosecution who argued Snook should have to spend more time behind bars before becoming eligible for parole.

Snook was sentenced in December of last year after pleading guilty to 46 child sex abuse charges. He claimed the 18 years was too long when compared to other sentences of a similar nature.
