First Nations In Province Struggling

The provincial government is reviewing all 94 recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Dr. Ed Doherty, the Minister responsible for Aboriginal Affairs, admits the 15 First Nations in the province are struggling economically and socially. They will soon be meeting with Premier Brian Gallant.

Prime Minister Trudeau is vowing indigenous peoples will be full partners when it comes to climate change and the green economy.

Former Finance Minister Blaine Higgs wonders what’s being down to crack down on illegal V-L-T’s which he claims doesn’t benefit the First Nations. He complains there has always been a lot of talk but no action.
