Fighting For The Survival Of The Wild Atlantic Salmon

The Mighty Miramichi River is known and loved around the world and those who love it fear the impact of declining wild Atlantic Salmon populations.

Martin Silverstone has written an article on the crisis facing the survival of wild Atlantic Salmon called Voices of the Valley.

He toured the river in mid-October saying it could be any river but it is one of the biggest and the best and he focuses on concerns relating to the disappointing salmon runs of this year.

Silverstone says according to a report by Garnder Pinfold consultants, wild Atlantic Salmon are worth $225 million contributing a gross domestic product of $150 million dollars in 2010.

The ASF made a public call in September for action from the Federal government to address the crisis facing the survival of the wild Atlantic Salmon.
