Moncton had a chance to showcase itself and what it had to offer the soccer world during the recent FIFA Women’s Under 20 World Cup.
Moncton venue manager Stephane Delisle says the exposure has helped the city solidify its footing for next year.
“We were one of four host cities for 2014. It was a great opportunity to have the community come out and experience football at a high level and it’s a great opportunity for us to not only deliver a great project, but also to get ready for next year, which is the Women’s World Cup next June.”
Delisle says about 4-thousand fans came out to see the action each night at Moncton Stadium and many got caught up in the excitement, “Those who came were definitely engaged.”
Moncton is one of six Canadian cities hosting games in next June’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
