Stats Can reports the national unemployment rate went down to 6.5 per cent in June.
The economy was stronger than expected creating more than 45,000 jobs mostly in part-time work.
Provincially the rate sits at 8.1 per cent which is down slightly.
And the unemployment rate for Moncton went down in June but it went up in Saint John.
