February Is Suicide Prevention Month

February is Suicide Prevention Month with the goal of raising awareness to the issues surrounding suicide.

Lorraine Pollock is the Chair of the Sussex and area Suicide Prevention Committee.

She says any drastic change in behaviour could be a sign of someone who is contemplating suicide.

Pollock says there are many warning signs to be aware of that include risky behaviour, excess drug or alcohol use or sleeping too much, or even too little.

She says a loss of a job, marriage, integrity and the death of a loved one could all be possible reasons behind why people think about suicide.
