Fans Ready For Wildcats Regular Season At The Avenir Centre

The Moncton Wildcats will wrap up their pre-season on Friday.

Currently, fans are not permitted to watch the games, but when the regular season opens on October 2nd against Charlottetown, season ticket holders will be permitted under new COVID-19 rules.

Spokesperson Courtney Huestis says fans will be asked to read the symptom checker signs as they enter and they will need to wear a mask until they get to their seat.

“Once you have you food and drink and sit down in your seat, everyone will be socially distanced while seating. So we’re skipping three seats between every row and physically one row in each section.”

Huestis says ticket prices did go up a little bit this year, due to the costs, but that hasn’t deterred the fans, “Overall, our message to the ticket holders and the response has been very positive this year. We’re just happy to have hockey back here,” Huestis says.

She says they are all just happy to be able to have hockey back again.

“All of the teams in Quebec don’t have the opportunity to have fans at all this season, so we are very fortunate here in the Maritimes to be able to have fans. it will just be a Maritime division this year, so it will just be us against the five other Maritime teams,” Huestis says.
