Employees Of Moncton Company Give Up Christmas Bonus For Charity

Would you be willing to donate your Christmas bonus to charity?

Employees at a Moncton-based telecommunications service provider chose to do that when they raised $5,000 for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Moncton.

DPL CEO Mark Albert says he was nervous when he asked employees to give up their $200 bonus.

“Ask it without forcing them. To make sure that I respected their free will in this because I think giving is a very personal thing and no one should be forced into giving,” he notes.

Albert adds the company also matched the employee contributions and a total of $10,000 was raised.

The remaining $5,000 will be donated to another worthwhile cause.
