Approximately four months after the FIFA Women’s World Cup ended we’re going to hear about the economic impact of hosting that event, as well as the U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
A news conference is being held tomorrow at Moncton City Hall including Mayor George LeBlanc, a provincial representative, and Joe Guest, the Chief of Competitions for the National Organising Committee.
We expect to find out details of the impact the two competitions had on the Canadian, as well as local economies.
Representatives will reveal the impact of visitor and operational expenditures, as well as tax revenue, capital construction costs, and wages and salaries.
They will also speak to the opportunities created for lifelong sport engaged youth and families as well as the positive impact on all levels of soccer across Canada.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup was held in six cities across the country, including Moncton in June and July of this year.
