A number of dogs seized from an alleged puppy mill in Kings County in December are now ready for adoption.
The Nova Scotia SPCA says sixteen border collies have undergone a month of intensive rehabilitation since they were seized on December 10th.
A total of 35 dogs were rescued from the alleged puppy mill.
The SPCA says whether the animals become permanent family members or are in temporary foster homes, they need special care.
Some of the criteria the SPCA is looking for included a suburban location with minimal traffic and noise, a quiet home with no children under 16, experience with dogs, and a family with time and patience for working on a rehab plan.
Alleged puppy mill owner Karin Robertson faces a number of charges, including animal cruelty.
