Dieppe Firefighter Injured In Blanchard Street Duplex Fire

Seven people have been displaced after a duplex fire on Blanchard Street in Dieppe.

The fire was reported at around 7:30pm Monday night.

Dieppe Fire Platoon Chief Denis Roberge says when they arrived, there was fire in the front and in the attic of the house.

Twenty-three firefighters helped to quickly extinguish the blaze.

One firefighter had to be taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.

The home was significantly damaged.

Codiac Transpo was also on scene to help keep displaced residents warm.

The Canadian Red Cross arranged emergency lodging for meal for three adults and three children from one unit.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
