The provincial Conservatives are calling for the removal of John McLaughlin as chair of the Commission on fracking.
Conservative Energy critic, Jake Stewart charges there was no competitive bidding about which company will carry out the public engagement on shale gas with Wicked Ideas being selected.
Stewart says this isn’t what the Liberals said they would do if they held the reins of power after having criticised the former Alward Government over the appointment of Margaret Ann Blaney to head Efficiency NB without seeking other applicants.
Stewart claims McLaughlin is an advisor to Wicked Ideas.
We contacted both the company and the Premier’s office for reaction but did not hear anything back.
