Interim provincial Conservative leader Bruce Fitch says Premier Brian Gallant is all over the map when it comes to shale gas. According to Fitch, Gallant’s moratorium has turned into a morphatorium or a sortatorium but the confusing messages is making the provincial government look like it is in disarray.
He also argues the seeming indecision on what to do about shale gas is one reason, as Fitch sees it, why the Liberals did so poorly in the Saint John East by-election Monday.
Fitch is also warning when governments change policies after companies have invested large sums of money, legal action usually follows any financial loss although he has no inside information about plans to launch any lawsuits.
