The Moncton Wildcats are in action again tonight, looking for a win in game three against the Halifax Mooseheads.
The two teams are expected to return to the Moncton Coliseum on Friday night for game five, if needed, but there’s already another event booked to use the Coliseum that night.
Wildcats Owner Robert Irving tells the fans, not to worry, because they are working with the City to deal with the issue. He says the Wildcats will be playing hockey somewhere.
Halifax currently leads the best of seven series 2 games to none. Games three and four go tonight and tomorrow night in Halifax.
Meantime, this conflict raises the question once again as to whether or not a downtown entertainment centre would solve these types issues.
Mayor George Leblanc says the city really needs to move ahead on this project, but there’s still the question of a funding commitment from the federal and provincial governments. He remains optimistic that funding will be coming soon.
