Christmas is months away, but registrations are now being accepted for the upcoming Greater Moncton Santa Claus parade.
This is the 52nd year for the parade and it will be held on November 24th this year.
There are a couple of changes to take note of.
Parade President Robert Gallant says they will be limiting the number of entries this year, to just 80, and there will be a fee to register.
“We have been discussing this decision for a number of years now, and as a result of continued growth in the expense of running the event we had to start asking for a nominal registration fee from our parade participants. One of the largest growing expenses has been for providing adequate professional security support to ensure safety along our route for the close to 100,000 spectators who come to see Santa.”
Corporate parade entries will pay $300 while Non-Profit Organizations will pay only $100 with a $50 refund available after participating in the parade.
This year’s theme is A Child’s Dream of Christmas.
