Changes To Take Note Of For 2015 Tax Year

It’s tax season and if you do your own returns, there are a few changes you’ll want to know about.

For parents, the child care expense deduction limit has been increased to $8000 for children under 7 and up to $5000 for children ages 8 to 16.

Another change is that the children’s fitness amount is now a refundable tax credit.

Spokesperson for the Canada Revenue Agency Desmond Arsenault says they’ve also added a new feature that will make doing your return even easier, “The auto-fill my return, which clients can access through my account or my CRA. This will take information that CRA already has on each individual taxpayer, and pre-populate on your return to get you going.”

Your tax returns are due on April 30th.
