Cast Of Oliver Announced

After months of auditions, the cast of Oliver has been announced.

The Capitol Theatre will present a production of the musical in February and March next year..

Director Marshall Button says the cast contains a lot of locals, including Moncton City Council’s Deputy Mayor Blair Lawrence, “He and I have been doing shows together without much interruption for the last 18 or 19 years. He happens to be a very accomplish singer and actor amongst his other roles.”

Button says the cast is made up of a lot of locals, “There are lots of people from the Greater Moncton community who are involved in the cast, and also in the team putting it together. We also have people who have roots in the area, who have gone on to other places.”

Auditions to find the right cast for Oliver, took Button as far away as Toronto. Rehearsals have already begun to a certain extent, “It’s a lot of work, but it is done in a fairly intense amount of time. Even though if you would watch them perform, you’d think they had been rehearsing for a long time. I think had like three rehearsals for two to three times each, but they have really nailed it so far,” Button adds.

The production will be on stage from February 25th to March 5, and tickets are on sale now.
