Case Of Ebola Ruled Out In Moncton

New Brunswick’s health minister has only been in office for a couple days but Victor Boudreau has already been briefed on a potential case of Ebola in the province.

A patient at Moncton’s Georges Dumont Hospital had been in West Africa and had showed symptoms of the killer disease but public health officials say the case is not Ebola.

Boudreau says the Department of Health is closely monitoring the situation but he says he’s confident protocols are in place to handle a situation like this.

Public health officials say the patient at the Dumont Hospital has been in isolation and the symptoms are subsiding.

Incidently, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Eilish Cleary is currently in West Africa assisting in the current Ebola crisis.
