As the National Energy Board sets out its game plan for considering the Energy East pipeline proposal, Canadian Chamber of Commerce President and C-E-O Perrin Beatty says its time the Trudeau Government steps up to the plate.
Beatty would like to see a clear statement from the federal government that it’s committed to getting Canadian oil and gas to world markets in a responsible way.
He says potential customers in Asia and Europe want to sign contracts but say they don’t know if Canada is able or even willing to provide them with oil and gas.
