A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a 43-year-old man from northwestern New Brunswick following a kidnapping incident earlier this week.
RCMP are looking for Gilbert Thériault of Drummond who is facing several charges including using a firearm to kidnap someone and uttering a death threat.
On Monday afternoon, police received a tip that a man was forced to leave his home in Drummond by two other men.
The victim was allegedly placed in the trunk of a car and driven about 10 kilometres to an isolated area.
The suspects stopped the car and fled the area but the victim was eventually able to get out of the trunk and get help.
Police say the 62-year-old victim made it safety and suffered minor injuries.
Gilbert Thériault is described as 5 foot 6 inches tall and approximately 120 pounds with a tattoo of an eagle on his right bicep.
Police advise not to approach him and call 911 right away if you see him.
The second suspect, 37-year-old Parker Jacob Richards from Nova Scotia, was arrested in Halifax today and will be returned to New Brunswick to face a slew of charges.
