The RCMP and Sussex Fire are confirming there is a major fire has destroyed the Lodge at the Poley Mountain Ski Resort in Sussex.
The call came in around 6:40 about a fire at the Lodge. Eyewitness Audrey Chapman says she saw the fire out of the window of her nearby home, and it didn’t look too bad – but by the time she arrived, the building was fully engulfed
RCMP Constable Julie Rogers Marsh tells us they don’t currently have any information on the cause of the fire or the full extent of the damage. The lodge housed the ski school, Mountain Cafe, Fireside Lounge, rental shop, and other amenities.
The Fire Marshall will be investigating but the cause is not thought to be suspicious.
