Big Hearts, Small City Helps To Find Home For Latest Fire Victims

Fire has left another family devastated, but a local organization is stepping in to help out.

The fire in the Katherine Avenue home broke out in a baby barn yesterday afternoon, but then spread to the home.

President of Big Hearts, Small City Jason Surrette says the family did not have insurance, “There was a mother and her 4 year old son and 18 year old daughter. “

There was only one family renting in the four unit building.

Surrette says they are looking at apartments this afternoon, and they hope to have found them a place to live by later today or tomorrow.

Once that happens, other community partners will be able to help with things including clothing and other household items.
