Some good news for food banks in Southeast New Brunswick.
When Sobeys recently acquired Co-Op Atlantic stores, the company decided to donate all of the food it didn’t need.
West End Food Bank manager Ben MacMichael says the donation contained a wide variety of food including canned goods, meat, dairy, fish, desserts and condiments.
Food Depot Alimentaire will be dividing up more than 10,000 pounds of food to distribute to about 20 organizations across the region.
