Crossroads for Women needs your help.
They are in their final days to receive enough votes to receive $100,000 in funding.
The organization that provides shelter, training, and support to assist women who are fleeing abusive relationships, was chosen among the ten finalists in iA Financial Group’s Canada-wide philanthropic contest.
They were also the only charity in Atlantic Canada to make the top ten.
Crossroads Executive Director, Chantal Poirier says, “We have the chance to win this donation, to help us expand and improve our current transition house, and it relies entirely on community voting. It is a vital time for us, and we are in the last week of voting, and every person can play a role in putting us first across the finish line. It’s the Christmas gift these women and children simply can’t do without.”
Poirier explained that the impending change in weather has made the situation life-threatening as a lack of beds means they are having to turn women away. The shelter has even moved staff out of the shelter and into another location to make extra space, but the renovations needed are costly.

The winners will be announced on December 10th.
