Canadians Want To Eliminate Time Changes – Survey

Canadians in most provinces and territories change the time twice a year.

But a recent survey shows most of us would like to get rid of the bi-annual tradition.

Narrative Research found 85 percent of Canadians would be in favour of keeping Daylight Saving Time year-round.

Support was generally consistent across the country but was highest in the Maritimes.

The poll also indicates that support for eliminating time changes increases as we age with Boomers most in favour of the idea.

Saskatchewan and Nunavut don’t change the time and while many jurisdictions have discussed it – including Ontario this fall – Yukon made Daylight Saving Time permanent back in March.
