Investigators are still determining what caused a home in Dieppe to catch fire early Saturday morning.
District chief Marc Cormier says the Dieppe Fire Department was dispatched to a house fully engulfed in flames at around 1:30am.
He says firefighters and the incident commander acted quickly to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
Fortunately the homeowners had managed to evacuate before the arrival of the fire department and no injuries were reported.
Chief Cormier says the damage is significant, mainly in the garage, attic and second floor and that the house is believed to be total loss.
The fire is not considered suspicious and investigators are in the process of examining several possible sources inside the attached garage.
