Athletes from across the country compete in Moncton at the New Brunswick Seniors Curling Championship.
The action is happening this weekend at Curl Moncton. 7 men’s teams and 7 women’s will be competing.
They’re looking to represent the province at the national competition in Manitoba next month.
Chair of the competition, Sherril Minns says the sport offers seniors a number of health benefits as well as a social event.
Minns says special mechanisms, including a stick to launch the rocks, allow seniors to continue curling well into their senior years, adding some even play into their late 80s and early 90s.
