Man Killed In Snowmobile Crash Near Bathurst

A Nova Scotia man has died following a snowmobile crash in northern New Brunswick.

Mounties say they were called to a groomed trail in South Tetagouche, west of Bathurst, shortly before 4 p.m. Friday.

“It’s believed that the man had failed to negotiate a turn on the trail and collided with a tree,” said the RCMP in a news release.

The victim, a 61-year-old man from Coldbrook, N.S., died at the scene, police said.

“The man was wearing a helmet, and neither speed nor impairment are believed to have been factors in the crash,” said the RCMP.
