Arrest Made In Moncton Hospital Oxytocin Case

Codiac RCMP say an arrest was made in a case involving a nurse at the Moncton Hospital who allegedly administered oxytocin to pregnant mothers without their consent.

Sergeant Mathieu Roy says an individual was questioned this week and later released on a promise to appear in court next May.

The individual isn’t being named since they haven’t been charged yet in court.

Horizon Health revealed in March that a registered labour and delivery nurse was fired after an internal investigation.

A class-action lawsuit later alleged Nicole Ruest, a nurse for more than 10 years, administered a labour-inducing drug which caused at least two women to have an emergency C-section.
