Sunny Brae Marks Remembrance Day

Several hundred people braved cold, damp weather to attend the annual outdoor Remembrance Day service in the Moncton neighbourhood of Sunny Brae.

Prior to the service, a parade made its way from the Sunny Brae Legion to the cenotaph on Massey Avenue.

Current and former military personnel marched with cadets, first responders, service groups along with boy scouts and girl guides.

Eleven veterans of the First World War and eleven veterans from the Second World War were honoured along with other soldiers who served overseas including Afghanistan.

Sunny Brae Legion Padre, Reverend Rob Salloum, made a brief address to the crowd.

“We seek to honour your sons and daughters who have served or who are serving currently. We are reminded that because of their service we live in safety.”
