Don Cherry No Longer With Hockey Night In Canada

A statement from Sportsnet President Bart Yabsley says, “Following further discussions with Don Cherry after Saturday night’s broadcast, it has been decided that it is the right time for him to immediately step down.”

This comes after controversial remarks were made by Cherry during Coach’s Corner.

An apology was issued by Ron McLean, who Co-Hosts with Cherry. He issued a statement before Sunday night’s game on Hockey Night in Canada.

He also issued an apology on social media.
