UPEI Poli-Sci Professor Says Canadians May Be Unsure Who To Vote For

Four days of advanced polls were held over the Thanksgiving weekend, but there’s no word yet on how many Canadians cast their ballots.

UPEI Political Science Professor Don Desserud says many may still be undecided as to who they will vote for.

“This has been a very odd campaign. None of the leaders are really capturing the imagination of the public. The policy items that are really important are out there, but no one seems to be coming up with anything that looks like a solution or even a road to a solution.”

His fear is that we will end up with a low voter turnout for this federal election, “People are either going to say, I am not going to bother to vote. Or they are going to say, one leader handled very well under pressure, or another did extremely well with their speaking points, so that is going to help them decide who to vote for.”

Canadians will head to the polls on October 21st..
