Upper Coverdale Man Charged With First Degree Murder

A man is facing a charge of first degree murder after a shooting in Upper Coverdale.

RCMP received reports on Sunday night of someone causing a disturbance at a home on Osprey Road.

When officers arrived, a man was found with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim, 19-year-old Evan Straight, was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries

Fifty-one year old Donald Kyle was arrested at the scene and appeared before a judge via tele-remand on Monday night.

He is scheduled to appear in Moncton court on Wednesday afternoon.
