Due to unforeseen delays with the construction of the new Centennial Beach, the swimming pool in Centennial Park will not be open to the public this season.
In a statement today, the City of Moncton says the heavy rain experienced early in the season followed by the extreme heat in July lead to delays and challenges in the installation of infrastructure and landscaping.
An official opening is now expected for spring of 2020.
City officials are encouraging residents to visit the new East End Pool which is open daily from 10am to 7pm and will remain open with these hours until Labour Day.
Since the East End Pool is heated, it will remain open on weekends in September with weather permitting.
