Air Canada Contacting Customers After Boeing 737 MAX 8 Planes Grounded

The union representing Air Canada’s flight attendants welcomes Transport Minister Marc Garneau’s decision to close the Canadian air space to Boeing 737 Max 8 airplanes.

Garneau grounded the planes and restricted airspace yesterday, based on information and advice received from the experts.

For Air Canada, this move affects more than 8500 flight attendants.

The company says it is reaching out to its impacted customers, but there could be delays in reaching call centres because of the magnitude of their 737 operations which carry up to 12000 customers per day.
