Tow Truck Driver Shaken Up After Accident On TCH

A tow truck driver who was injured in an accident on the Trans Canada Highway, is glad to be alive.

Samuel Sutherland says he was pulled over near the Harrisville Boulevard exit on Tuesday night changing a flat tire for another motorist.

A passing vehicle struck Sutherland and the tow truck before rolling over into the ditch.

The two drivers were taken to hospital.

Sutherland was released early this morning, but he says he is still very shaken up, and he will be off on bed rest for a week with non-life threatening injuries.

The other driver has also been released.

RCMP are still investigating the crash, and there is no word at this point whether or not charges will be laid.

Sutherland says this serves as a reminder of how important it is to move over for emergency vehicles, including tow trucks and service vehicles..
