Fewer Moose Bagged In 2018

The preliminary numbers are in from the 2018 Moose Hunt in New Brunswick.

According to the province, 3,528 moose were bagged during the five-day hunt.

This is 289 fewer moose registered than during the 2017 hunt.

Most of the moose — 1,000 of them — were registered on the first day of the hunt, which ran from September 25 to 29.

The drop could be partly linked to fewer available licenses this year.

There were 4,465 licenses available this year, down from 4,635 in 2017.
