Police say an 18-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 17-year-old girl from Jacksonville, N.B., near Woodstock.
Mounties say they got a call about an unresponsive person at a home in Jacksonville around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday and arrested a man at the scene.
Amon Kelleter of Jacksonville appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on October 15.
Police say the victim’s name cannot be released due to a court-ordered publication ban.
The Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate.
