Cyclebetes Ride Benefits JDRF

The Junior Diabetes Research Foundation is once again teaming up with Mike’s Bike Shop in Dieppe for the annual Cyclebetes bike ride.

Riders can choose a 45K, 75K or 125K route through the scenic Memramcook Valley.

JDRF spokesperson Gilles Gallant says the event includes exercise, team building and the knowledge of supporting a great cause.

Gallant says the non-competitive event has helped raise more than $200,000 since 2007 for diabetes research.

This year’s goal is to raise $30,000.

The event was launched when store owner Mike LeBlanc wanted to help his daughter with Type 1 Diabetes while giving back to the community.

Riders can check-in and register at Mike’s Bike Shop until 11:30 Saturday morning.
