The unemployment rate took a sizeable jump over the summer in New Brunswick according to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada.
The August jobless rate stood at 8.3 percent which compares to 7.5 percent in July.
The province lost 1100 jobs last month.
The unemployment rate in Moncton climbed slightly to 6.7 percent while in Saint John it remained fairly steady at 5.5 percent.
