Residents in Fredericton continue to lay flowers at Fredericton Police headquarters, and they are coming together to support each other.
Judy Richardson has lived in the city for many years.
She says this happening where she lives, is more than shocking, “It makes you feel vulnerable. To think that there is such madness and what motivates a person to be so violent. I don’t get it. I don’t understand hatred like that.”
It was an emotional moment for Richardson as she took time to go to the memorial and sign the flag, “I am human. It is the same as going to a wake and expressing strength, condolences, sorry for your loss, wishing you could more. It’s human to express your grief and say, look we are thinking about you, let us know what we can do for you. I suspect that there will be things done for these families. It’s community.”
Richardson says she didn’t know the victims, but she needed to grieve, just like so many others.
